More than a farm, a place to gather, a place to solve problems, a place to heal. Let the land be your inspiration.

The Farm

The Confederation of Ohlone People’s (CoOP) vision is to create a pipeline of future land stewards who understand their responsibility of caring for an entire ecosystem, rather than isolated symptoms of climate change.

The land at the center of this project is Zucigim. It is within traditional Ohlone territory, and to honor our ancestors, we refer to the space as Zucigim Village. The village is a space of rekindling a relationship with all living beings, and fostering a relationship with land and place. The goal is when we heal the land, when we heal water, when we practice reciprocity, people will heal.

Working along an urban-rural watershed, this farming model brings together Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) which focuses on agroecology, caring for soil, water and ecologies while growing at minimum, 35K pounds of organic food that is gifted to community partners who serve vulnerable populations. Second, we recognize that climate change is the outcome of generations of poor land stewardship and urban sprawl. This partnership has been working to restore balance through repairing critical relationships. For example, the Confederation of Ohlone People offers peacemaking that reunites Indigenous youth, at risk of living on the fringe in urban settings, with a nurturing rural ecosystem for the purpose of healing cross-generational trauma. Third, we are working with experts to design an internship program to bridge agroecology and TEK to support the Indigenous philosophy of reciprocity. It is critical to remind community members to walk gently, and to leave a space better than they found it.

Heal the Land, Heal the People

Volunteers help steward the land by removing invasive species, assisting with the reintroduction of local native plants, and tending to Indigenous resources and land based medicines. In the process, volunteers have a chance to reconnect with their own ancestral practices.

Reconnect with your body and mind at the farm. Escape the noise of everyday life.

Give back to her, Earth.

Help feed the people.
